- Abstract:
- The article discusses global economic conditions in 2011, with a particular focus on the U.S. According to the author, economic and social trends point towards a future in which the middle class will continue to shrink and gaps between the elite and other citizens will widen. It is suggested that U.S. deficits and debts are a result of a shift in federal taxation from corporations to individuals. Statistics related to unemployment, taxation, and the U.S. Federal budget are presented. Other topics include worker-directed enterprises, capitalism, and the relationship between corporations and politics.
